Job Summary
A fast-paced corporate office in Temecula, CA is seeking an Accounting Operations Specialist for a direct hire opportunity. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys high-volume financial work, process improvement, training, documentation, and cross-functional support.
The Accounting Operations Specialist will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end and year-end close, reconciling accounts, improving department workflows, and helping build scalable training resources and SOPs. Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and reconcile financial and banking accounts, prepare journal entries, and assist with month-end and year-end close procedures.
- Support daily accounting operations including reconciliations, data entry, vendor communication, reporting, banking, accounts payable, payroll, and financial documentation.
- Research and resolve discrepancies while maintaining compliance with company policies, accounting principles, internal controls, and confidentiality standards.
- Develop, update, and standardize SOPs, training materials, reference guides, and simplified process instructions for corporate and field users.
- Provide onboarding and ongoing training for new and existing employees on procedures, systems, and department workflows.
- Support special projects, process improvement initiatives, cross-training efforts, and departmental coverage during employee absences.
Compensation and Benefits
- Direct hire opportunity.
- Location: Temecula, CA.
- Compensation: $65,000 to $75,000 per year.
- Standard schedule: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with a lunch break from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.
- Health insurance offered within 60 days of employment, including medical, dental, vision, and chiropractic care.
- 40 hours of vacation begins accruing after 6 months of employment.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Support accounting operations, financial reconciliations, journal entries, reporting, and close processes.
- Build and maintain SOPs, training materials, process guides, and standardized department procedures.
- Cross-train across accounting, banking, accounts payable, payroll, reporting, and related operational functions.
- Manage special projects, including process documentation, workflow improvement, and database support.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial documentation, reconciliations, and internal controls.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, along with strong proficiency in Outlook and Word.
- Ability to work accurately in a very fast-paced, high-volume corporate office environment.
- Strong organizational, time-management, and multitasking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to train and support others.
- High attention to detail, strong follow-through, and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Professional, dependable, honest, friendly, and team-oriented approach.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion.
- Ability to occasionally lift boxes weighing up to 25 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Multi-unit accounting experience.
- Experience in restaurant, hospitality, retail, or other multi-location environments.
- Experience with Restaurant365 or similar accounting, inventory, recipe, or operational database systems.
- Prior experience developing SOPs, training guides, onboarding programs, or process improvement documentation.
- Interest in long-term growth within an accounting department and supporting leadership with scalable systems and team development.
