Our client, a well-established community bank, is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to support daily accounting operations and ensure accurate financial reporting.
Responsibilities
• Prepare and post journal entries; assist with monthly financial statements
• Perform daily and monthly general ledger reconciliations
• Assist with ALCO/Board reporting and weekly regulatory reporting
• Calculate and post monthly accruals
• Support year-end tax processes (property tax, sales/use tax)
• Maintain accurate certifications for assigned GL accounts
• Assist with bank loan purchase and investment portfolio activities
• Complete payroll reconciliations and bi-weekly payroll journal entries
• Prepare the Daily Liquidity & Financial Report and explain variances
• Support the Controller and Assistant Controller with various accounting projects
• Provide backup support for AP, reconciliations, and other accounting tasks
• Maintain accurate financial records, perform research, and assist with special projects
Qualifications
• 2+ years of accounting experience required
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles
• Advanced Excel skills required
• Excellent accuracy, organization, and analytical skills
•High integrity and professionalism when handling confidential information
