We are seeking an Accounting Specialist to join our dynamic Accounting Department and provide vital support across a wide range of functions. In this role, you will be responsible for posting journal entries, preparing financial statements, maintaining accounting records, and performing reconciliation and certifications over accounts. You will also ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information by preparing monthly reports and ensuring compliance with all relevant state and federal banking regulations and internal bank policies. As an Accounting Specialist, you will have the opportunity to assist with the preparation of regulatory and ALCO/Board reports, perform weekly and monthly regulatory reporting, and calculate and post expense accruals. You will also play a key role in tax-related duties, including preparing year-end forms and assisting with property and sales tax returns. Your responsibilities will also include performing daily reconciliations of general ledger accounts, managing the bank's loan purchase and investment portfolios, and providing general accounting support to both internal and external stakeholders. Additionally, you will handle a range of routine accounting tasks, including processing payroll entries, managing rent and holding company payments, and preparing daily liquidity and financial reports. You’ll work closely with the Assistant Controller and Controller to support various accounting and reporting functions while maintaining a high level of confidentiality and integrity in handling sensitive financial information.

The ideal candidate will possess at least two years of experience in accounting, with a solid understanding of accounting and financial principles. A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (or equivalent experience) is preferred. Strong Excel skills, analytical abilities, attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task and prioritize are essential for success in this role. You should also be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team, and be motivated to take on new challenges and learn as much as possible.
