Accounting Specialist

In this role, you’ll ensure accurate and timely processing of daily financial transactions while supporting overall accounting operations. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is detail-oriented, analytical, and enjoys reconciling complex payment data.

Responsibilities:
-Review daily transaction activity and ensure all incoming and outgoing cash transactions are posted accurately and in line with company policies.
-Investigate payment application or posting issues by contacting customers, debtors, or other stakeholders to reconcile remittance differences.
-Retrieve, verify, and record data needed to complete transaction posting.
-Maintain records, transaction logs, and provide support for departmental needs such as generating reports and check copies.
-Monitor transactions for signs of fraud or risk, and promptly notify management for assessment and resolution.
-Participate in meetings to stay up-to-date on potential risk factors that impact transaction processing.
-Assist with cash posting, year-end audit preparation, and other special projects as needed.

Requirements:
-Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
-Ability to analyze and resolve discrepancies in financial transactions.
-Excellent communication skills to coordinate with customers and internal teams.
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and comfort learning new financial systems.
-Organized and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
-Previous experience in cash applications, accounts receivable, or similar finance roles preferred.
