Accounting Specialist
• 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM or 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
• Compensation: $18–$21 per hour, depending on experience
• Background and drug screening required
About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join our team. This position is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of payment applications and transaction postings while maintaining financial integrity.
Key Responsibilities
• Review and correct payment application or posting issues in accordance with procedures
• Contact customers, debtors, or other parties to reconcile remittance differences
• Manage and retrieve data needed for transaction processing
• Provide support for departmental requests such as check copies and reports
• Maintain records and transaction logs as required
• Process daily cash transactions accurately and in a timely manner
• Identify potential fraud or financial risks and report them to management
• Attend meetings to stay informed on risk factors and compliance needs
• Assist with cash postings, audits, and special projects as needed
Qualifications
• Previous accounting or financial transaction experience preferred
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks
• Excellent communication skills for customer and internal interactions
• Proficiency in financial software and databases
