Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Operations Specialist for a direct hire opportunity in Temecula, CA. This full-time role is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys a fast-paced corporate office environment, high-volume work, process improvement, and cross-functional support.

The Accounting Operations Specialist will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting reconciliations, assisting with month-end and year-end close, developing SOPs, and helping onboard and train team members. Key Responsibilities

- Maintain and reconcile financial and banking accounts, prepare journal entries, and support accurate accounting records.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close activities, reporting, data entry, vendor communication, and discrepancy resolution.
- Develop, update, and standardize Standard Operating Procedures, training guides, manuals, and process documentation.
- Support onboarding and training for new employees, including refresher training for existing team members.
- Cross-train across accounting, banking, accounts payable, payroll, and reporting to provide departmental coverage as needed.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting principles, internal controls, and confidentiality requirements.

Compensation and Benefits

- Direct hire opportunity.
- Pay range: $34 to $38 per hour, based on qualifications and experience.
- Full-time schedule: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with lunch from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.
- Health insurance offered within 60 days of employment, including medical, dental, vision, and chiropractic care.
- 40 hours of vacation begins accruing after 6 months of employment.
- 40 hours of paid sick leave accrues per California law.
- 9 paid holidays per year.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Maintain reconciliations, financial records, journal entries, and accounting documentation.
- Support month-end close, year-end close, reporting, and accounting operations projects.
- Create and maintain SOPs, training materials, and process documentation.
- Provide cross-functional support across accounting, banking, accounts payable, payroll, and reporting.

- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, reconciliations, internal controls, and financial documentation.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, plus strong proficiency with Outlook and Word.
- High attention to detail with strong accuracy in data entry, reporting, and procedural work.
- Ability to work in a very fast-paced, high-volume corporate office while managing multiple ongoing projects.
- Strong organizational, time-management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and take ownership of assigned responsibilities.
- Professional appearance, dependable work ethic, honest approach, and team-focused attitude.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with a high level of confidentiality and discretion.
- Ability to occasionally lift boxes weighing up to 25 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications

- Multi-unit accounting experience.
- Experience training new employees or supporting onboarding programs.
- Experience developing SOPs, process documentation, manuals, or accounting procedures.
- Cross-functional experience supporting banking, payroll, accounts payable, reporting, or corporate accounting operations.
