Accounting Manager: MUST BE BILINGUAL (Japanese-English)

Language Requirement: Fluent in Japanese and English

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, multicultural environment and can bridge Japanese and U.S. business practices.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Operations & Reporting Oversee day-to-day accounting functions: general ledger, A/P, A/R, payroll, and cash flow. Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP. Manage month-end and year-end close processes with strong attention to detail.
2. Budgeting, Forecasting & Financial Planning (FP&A) Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process. Provide leadership with financial analysis, KPI monitoring, and performance insights. Identify financial risks and opportunities to inform strategic decision-making.
3. Fund & Investment Accounting Manage capital calls, distributions, and investor reporting. Collaborate closely with investment teams on fund performance and valuations. Maintain accurate records and ensure audit readiness for internal and external stakeholders.
4. Tax Strategy & Compliance Lead the development and execution of tax planning strategies. Ensure timely and accurate tax filings—corporate, indirect, and international (U.S. and Japan if applicable). Stay informed of tax regulation changes and assess their impact on the business.
5. Audit & Regulatory Oversight Manage audits and maintain strong relationships with regulatory agencies. Ensure internal controls, compliance frameworks, and financial policies are in place and up-to-date.
6. Team Leadership & Collaboration Supervise and mentor accounting and finance team members. Encourage cross-functional collaboration between local and Japan-based teams. Promote continuous improvement and a culture of accountability.
7. Strategic Financial Guidance Provide financial modeling, scenario analysis, and strategic input for executive leadership. Evaluate business cases and assist with long-term financial planning and investment decisions.

Qualifications:
• Fluent in Japanese and English (verbal and written) Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 2+ years of experience in finance/accounting with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory capacity
• Solid experience with U.S. GAAP, tax planning, and regulatory compliance
• Proficient in ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP), Microsoft Excel, and financial analysis tools Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Cross-cultural communication experience or background working with Japanese companies is a plus
