Are you an experienced accounting professional who enjoys owning the full accounting cycle? We are seeking a hands-on Accounting Manager / Full-Charge Bookkeeper to support a well-established agricultural operation in Wasco, CA. General Accounting & Financial Reporting
This position is ideal for someone with strong general ledger, accounts payable, cost accounting, and month-end close experience who thrives in a fast-paced operational environment. You'll work closely with leadership while helping maintain accurate financial reporting and supporting business growth.
Qualifications
7+ years of accounting experience required
Full-Charge Bookkeeper, Accounting Manager, Senior Accountant, or similar experience
Strong knowledge of:
General Ledger (GL)
Accounts Payable (A/P)
Journal Entries
Month-End and Year-End Close
Financial Statement Preparation
Experience with cost accounting in agriculture, manufacturing, construction, production, or other operational industries preferred
Experience supporting audits, tax preparation, or external CPA relationships
Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain accuracy in a high-volume environment
Excellent communication skills and ability to work directly with business owners
CPA designation not required
Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger
Prepare and post journal entries
Perform month-end and year-end closing activities
Prepare internal financial reports, including:
Profit & Loss Statements
Balance Sheets
Cash Flow Reports
Support tax preparation and year-end reporting processes
Accounts Payable
Process and manage vendor invoices and payments
Maintain vendor records and resolve discrepancies
Coordinate payment runs in accordance with company procedures
Assist with complex accounting transactions as needed
Cost Accounting & Operations Support
Track and allocate costs across multiple departments, projects, equipment, and operational cost centers
Support labor and operational cost allocations
Analyze cost trends, margins, and variances
Collaborate with operations and payroll teams to ensure accurate cost reporting
Systems & Process Improvement
Maintain documented accounting procedures and internal controls
Support process improvements and accounting workflow efficiencies
Assist with cross-training and documentation initiatives
Help prepare accounting systems for future benefits and retirement plan administration
Collaboration
Partner with leadership on financial reporting and business priorities
Communicate accounting insights and recommendations clearly and professionally
Contribute to a collaborative and team-oriented work environment
