This Accounting Manager -Bilingual In Japanese Position Features:
We are seeking a Bilingual Japanese Accounting Manager to oversee and manage the daily accounting operations for a growing food manufacturing company. This role will be responsible for ensuring financial accuracy, maintaining compliance with accounting standards, and supporting financial reporting for both U.S. and Japanese stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in accounting within a manufacturing environment and the ability to communicate effectively in both Japanese and English.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee and manage the day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll support.

Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal financial policies.

Coordinate with Japanese headquarters or international stakeholders regarding financial reporting and analysis.

Manage month-end and year-end close processes.

Prepare financial forecasts, budgets, and variance analyses to support leadership decision-making.

Maintain and improve internal accounting controls and procedures.

Support external audits, tax preparation, and regulatory reporting.

Oversee inventory accounting and cost accounting related to manufacturing operations.

Supervise and mentor accounting staff as needed.

Translate financial documents and facilitate communication between U.S. and Japanese teams.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).

Fluent in Japanese and English (reading, writing, and speaking).

5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing or food production.

Experience with cost accounting, inventory accounting, and financial reporting.

Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial compliance standards.

Experience working with ERP systems (SAP, NetSuite, Oracle, or similar).

Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.

Ability to work cross-functionally with operations, supply chain, and executive leadership.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with Japanese-owned or international companies.

CPA or other professional accounting certification.

Experience in food manufacturing, CPG, or production environments.
