Lead Accounting Operations and Partner with Executive Leadership

Are you a hands-on accounting leader who enjoys managing day-to-day accounting operations while contributing to strategic financial initiatives? We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join a stable and growing organization in Irvine, CA.

Reporting directly to the CFO, this highly visible leadership role is responsible for overseeing accounting operations, financial reporting, month-end close, internal controls, and team development. This is an outstanding opportunity for a collaborative accounting professional who brings strong GAAP knowledge, leadership experience, and a passion for process improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Manage daily accounting operations, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll.
Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Prepare financial statements, financial reports, and account reconciliations.
Maintain the general ledger and ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.

Support audits, tax preparation activities, and regulatory compliance requirements.
Assist the CFO with budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, cash flow reporting, and special projects.

Develop, mentor, and support accounting staff while fostering a collaborative team environment.
Evaluate and improve accounting processes, procedures, and operational efficiencies.

Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
5-8+ years of progressive accounting experience.
Experience as an Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller, Controller, or similar accounting leadership role.
Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Proven experience managing month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
Experience preparing financial statements and supporting financial reporting activities.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and analytical abilities.
Ability to partner effectively with executive leadership and operational teams.

Preferred
CPA designation is highly desirable.
Professional services or law firm accounting experience.
Experience with budgeting, forecasting, audit coordination, and financial planning initiatives.
Background in implementing process improvements and internal control enhancements.
