Accounting Manager – Manufacturing

Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead the full accounting function within a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for the monthly close, financial reporting, internal controls, inventory accounting, and cash flow management. The Accounting Manager partners closely with operations and leadership to ensure accurate financial data supports sound business decisions.

This is a hands-on leadership role with ownership of accounting outcomes, not a transactional position.

Key Responsibilities
• Manage and complete the monthly close process on time
• Prepare accurate financial statements (P\&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis
• Establish and enforce internal controls and accounting procedures
• Oversee inventory accounting, cost of goods sold, and physical counts
• Manage working capital, including AR, AP, and cash forecasting
• Maintain fixed asset records and capital expense tracking
• Supervise and develop accounting staff

Qualifications & Ideal Candidate
• Proven experience as an Accounting Manager or Senior Accountant in manufacturing
• Strong understanding of inventory, cost accounting, and operational finance
• Ability to enforce deadlines, controls, and documentation standards
• Comfortable partnering with operations and non-financial leaders
• Hands-on, accountable, and process-driven

Role Fit
This role is best suited for candidates who thrive in an operational manufacturing setting and are comfortable owning results, enforcing controls, and leading with accountability. It may not be a fit for those seeking purely transactional accounting work.
