Job Title: Accounting Manager
Location: Fort Lauderdale, FL (On-Site)
Salary: $120,000–$140,000

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee key aspects of accounting operations and financial management within a large-scale construction organization. This role requires strong leadership, deep knowledge of construction accounting, and experience working in high-revenue environments.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee day-to-day accounting operations: general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, and bank reconciliations
Manage month-end and year-end close processes
Prepare and analyze Work-in-Progress (WIP) reports and detailed job cost analysis
Assist with preparation of financial statements, budgets, and forecasts
Oversee cash management, daily cash flow monitoring, and debt obligations
Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and regulatory requirements
Manage multi-state sales and use tax reporting and compliance
Collaborate with external auditors and tax advisors
Maintain fixed assets and depreciation schedules
Record equipment/property purchases, disposals, and transfers
Supervise and mentor a team of 3–4 accounting professionals
Drive process improvements and implement best practices

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred)
5–7+ years of accounting experience in the construction industry
Experience working for construction companies with $350M+ in annual revenue (required)
Experience in organizations with 500M+ in revenue strongly preferred
Strong knowledge of job costing, WIP schedules, AIA billing, and lien waivers
Experience with percentage-of-completion revenue recognition
Proficiency with accounting systems such as Sage 300, Procore, or similar
Advanced Excel skills
Proven leadership experience managing accounting teams

Additional Requirements:

Must have prior experience working in a construction company environment
Ability to start within Q1 preferred
