Our client, a leading manufacturing company, is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Manager to oversee their accounting and financial reporting functions. This role requires independent judgment, strong leadership skills, and the ability to manage and develop a high-performing accounting team. The ideal candidate will be fluent in Japanese and English and bring expertise in corporate accounting, internal controls, and US GAAP compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage, supervise, and mentor two or more team members within the Accounting Department.

Oversee general accounting, financial reporting, and financial services functions (Credit, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable).

Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with policies and US GAAP.

Provide accounting guidance and technical support across business units, including revenue recognition, inter-company accounting, cash management, and royalty reporting.

Partner with Sales and Customer Service teams on revenue recognition and order terms.

Coordinate activities related to internal controls, audits (internal and external), and compliance with SEC reporting requirements.

Supervise federal, state, and local tax reporting requirements; support corporate tax, treasury, and risk management.

Support system improvements and validate system changes to ensure accounting accuracy.

Oversee banking management, financial statements, and budget analysis for AFIH and related subsidiaries.

Provide accounting advice to overseas holding subsidiaries.

Contribute to acquisitions, due diligence, and other special projects as needed.

Recruit, develop, and retain qualified accounting staff while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.

Minimum 1–2 years of corporate accounting experience, with team leadership responsibilities.

Strong knowledge of US GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.

Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

Proven ability to analyze business performance and develop financial plans.

Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.

Fluency in Japanese and English is required.
