We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Accounting Manager to join a well-established company with a team of 40 employees. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead the accounting function while playing an integral part in the financial health and strategic growth of the organization. Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage an accounting team including one Accounting Manager and their team members.
Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and month-end closing processes to ensure timely, accurate financial results.
Review sales transactions including rebate accruals and perform variance analysis comparing budget vs. actual.
Manage corporate filings such as income tax, sales tax, property tax, and other relevant tax filings on an annual, quarterly, and monthly basis.
Deliver monthly financial statements reviewed thoroughly for management and senior leadership.
Plan and execute inventory counts semi-annually and at year-end; investigate discrepancies to improve accuracy.
Lead annual external audits, quarterly reviews, and assist with internal audits.
Continuously improve accounting processes to balance strong internal controls with operational efficiency.
Collaborate closely with business leaders to provide insightful financial analysis for informed decision-making.
Maintain strong relationships across departments and act as the go-to accounting resource within the company.
Support payroll and Human Resource functions, including PTO and vacation tallying as needed.
Drive an adaptable and flexible work approach, able to navigate dynamic business needs with a sense of urgency.
What They Are Looking For:
Proven experience managing accounting teams and delivering financial leadership. (5-7 years of Experience)
Proficiency with accounting software such as MAS 90, QuickBooks, and Acumatica.
Strong understanding of financial reporting, tax compliance, and audit processes.
Ability to mentor and develop staff, fostering growth and excellence.
Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills and an eye for process improvement.
Comfortable taking a hands-on approach, including direct involvement in payroll and HR-related tasks.
Forward-thinking mindset with a respect for tried-and-true financial principles and best practices.
