Accounting Coordinator
Location: Wilmington, NC 28401, with remote start for the first 1 to 3 months then onsite once an office is secured, candidates may continue remote if the office location is not feasible
Pay Rate: $65,000 to $90,000 per year plus benefits
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8AM - 5PM
Employment Type: Direct hire

Summary
This is a startup environment and a hands on role supporting both accounting and HR operations across multiple entities. You will own core transactional accounting workflows, help coordinate multi state payroll and HR administration, and improve processes as the organization scales. The ideal candidate is proactive, highly detail oriented, and comfortable working independently while building structure and consistency in a fast paced setting.

Key Responsibilities
• Own full cycle accounts payable and accounts receivable including invoicing, collections follow up, payment processing, and discrepancy resolution across multiple entities
• Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations, support month end close activities, and assist with reporting accuracy and control improvements
• Coordinate payroll and HR operations including timekeeping validation, onboarding and offboarding documentation, employee changes, benefits updates, and compliance records
• Maintain vendor and personnel files including W 9s, contracts, and tax documentation and support SOP documentation and system enhancements

Qualifications
• 3+ years of experience in accounting, payroll, or HR operations, multi entity experience preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field preferred with strong working knowledge of basic accounting principles
• Strong Excel skills and experience using accounting software, ADP or similar payroll and HRIS systems preferred
• Startup mindset with high attention to detail, strong judgment, and comfort operating autonomously in a fast paced environment
