Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Part-Time Accounting Clerk for a temporary contract opportunity in Winter Park, FL. This role will support day-to-day accounting operations during an approximately 8-week maternity leave coverage assignment and is ideal for an experienced accounting or bookkeeping professional who can quickly contribute with accuracy and confidence.

The Accounting Clerk will work in a collaborative, supportive environment where organization, communication, and reliability are valued. This opportunity offers a flexible part-time schedule, hybrid work arrangement, and the chance to make an immediate impact by supporting essential accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliation, and month-end close activities.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform bank and credit card reconciliations with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including transaction review and documentation.
- Assist with month-end close activities, including journal entries, account balancing, and financial record updates.
- Maintain accurate accounting records and organized supporting documentation.
- Research, investigate, and resolve discrepancies in a timely and professional manner.
- Collaborate with internal team members to help ensure smooth financial operations during the temporary coverage period.

Compensation and Benefits

- Pay: $20.00 to $25.00 per hour, based on experience.
- Job Type: Contract/Temporary.
- Assignment Length: Approximately 8 weeks.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 20 to 25 hours per week, approximately 4 to 5 hours per day.
- Work Arrangement: Hybrid schedule with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote.
- Location: Winter Park, FL.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Perform bank and credit card reconciliations, accounts payable support, and accounts receivable support.
- Assist with month-end close tasks, including journal entries and account balancing.
- Maintain accurate financial records and resolve accounting discrepancies.
- Use accounting software and Microsoft Excel to manage transactions, reporting, and documentation.

- 3+ years of accounting, bookkeeping, or related finance experience.
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles, processes, and financial documentation.
- Hands-on experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and account reconciliations.
- Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel for accounting tasks, reconciliations, and reporting support.
- Ability to quickly learn new systems and adapt to a fast-paced temporary assignment.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, time management, and follow-through.
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented approach.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience supporting month-end close processes.
- Prior experience working in a hybrid or remote work environment.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
