Key Responsibilities

- Assist with monthly Joint Interest Billing, including operated property expenses, drilling costs, capital expenditures, and joint account charges.
- Support revenue accounting processes, including recording, reconciling, and distributing oil and gas revenues based on ownership interests.
- Maintain accurate ownership records, working interest percentages, division orders, and division of interest information.
- Process royalty payments, partner distributions, and related accounting transactions.
- Prepare account reconciliations, supporting schedules, and documentation for month-end and year-end close.
- Research and resolve accounting discrepancies while collaborating with accounting, operations, land, and management teams.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Prepare and process Joint Interest Billing for oil and gas operations.
- Support revenue accounting, royalty payments, partner distributions, and ownership-based allocations.
- Reconcile lease operating expenses, joint account charges, and related accounting transactions.
- Maintain accurate financial, ownership, and accounting records.

- Minimum of 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
- Experience with Joint Interest Billing and/or revenue accounting processes.
- Understanding of oil and gas ownership records, division orders, royalty payments, and working interests.
- Strong account reconciliation, data entry, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and deadline management skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced accounting environment.
- Associate's degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.

Preferred Qualifications

- 3 to 5 years of accounting experience in oil and gas accounting.
- Prior experience supporting Joint Interest Billing, revenue accounting, division orders, or royalty payment processes.
- Familiarity with tax reporting requirements and regulatory compliance documentation related to oil and gas operations.
- Experience working closely with accounting, operations, land, and management personnel.
