Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Accounting Clerk / Accounts Payable Specialist for a temp-to-hire opportunity with a construction industry organization in Irvine, CA. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional who enjoys high-volume invoice processing, vendor communication, job cost coding, and supporting project-based accounting workflows.

Key Responsibilities
- Process, review, code, and enter Accounts Payable invoices accurately and on time.
- Match invoices to purchase orders, supporting documentation, job cost codes, and project-related records.
- Reconcile vendor statements, research discrepancies, and communicate with vendors regarding invoice and payment questions.
- Assist with check runs, vendor payments, lien releases, insurance documentation, and construction accounting paperwork.
- Support account reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, data entry, filing, and general accounting duties.
- Provide month-end close support and work closely with project managers and internal teams to ensure accurate project expense tracking.

Compensation and Benefits

- $26 to $30 per hour.
- Temp-to-hire opportunity.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Process high-volume Accounts Payable invoices, coding, approvals, and vendor payments.
- Support job cost tracking by coding expenses to the appropriate construction projects.
- Assist with reconciliations, month-end close tasks, and general accounting support.

Preferred Qualifications

- Construction accounting experience strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with job costing, lien releases, purchase orders, insurance documentation, or construction billing.
- Experience supporting accounting for residential, commercial, or office construction projects.
- Prior experience working closely with project managers, vendors, and operations teams in a construction environment.
