Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk for a full-time, temp-to-hire opportunity in Santa Barbara, CA. This entry-level accounting role is ideal for someone who wants to build a strong foundation in accounting while gaining hands-on experience in a professional office environment.

The Accounting Clerk will support daily financial operations, including invoice processing, reconciliations, recordkeeping, and general accounting department support. Key Responsibilities

- Enter financial data accurately and assist with invoice processing.
- Reconcile bank statements and help identify or resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain organized financial records, databases, and supporting documentation.
- Assist with basic financial reports, summaries, and account updates.
- Provide general clerical and administrative support to the accounting department.
- Communicate professionally with internal team members to support timely accounting workflows.

Compensation and Benefits

- Pay range: $19 to $25 per hour.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
- Work arrangement: In person.
- Location: Santa Barbara, CA.



Required Qualifications and Skills

- Support day-to-day accounting operations through data entry, invoice processing, and record maintenance.
- Reconcile bank statements and assist with resolving discrepancies.
- Help prepare basic financial reports and accounting summaries.
- Provide clerical support to keep accounting processes organized and accurate.

- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Coursework in accounting, finance, bookkeeping, or a related field is a plus.
- 1 to 3 years of accounting, bookkeeping, administrative, or related office experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Familiarity with accounting software, such as QuickBooks.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
- Solid math skills and the ability to work with financial data.
- Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn.
- Ability to work full time, in person, in a professional office setting.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience processing invoices or supporting accounts payable functions.
- Experience reconciling accounts or bank statements.
- Familiarity with QuickBooks or similar accounting software.
- Interest in building a long-term career in accounting or finance.
