Job Summary
A direct hire opportunity is available for an Accounting Clerk in West Columbia, SC within the financial services industry. Key Responsibilities
- Process routine accounting transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, deposits, and payment records.
- Assist with general ledger entries, account coding, and month-end accounting support.
- Reconcile bank statements, vendor accounts, customer accounts, and internal financial records.
- Maintain organized accounting files, documentation, and transaction records.
- Research and resolve basic discrepancies while communicating professionally with internal teams and external contacts.
- Support reporting, audits, and other finance department projects as needed.
Compensation and Benefits
- Direct hire opportunity.
- Salary range: $38,000 to $44,000 per year.
- Location: West Columbia, SC.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Support bookkeeping, transaction processing, and general ledger activity.
- Assist with account reconciliations, payment records, and financial documentation.
- Help maintain accurate accounting records and support month-end close activities.
- 1-2 years of accounting, bookkeeping, accounts payable, accounts receivable, or related finance experience.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Basic understanding of debits, credits, reconciliations, and accounting documentation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and general office technology.
- Ability to manage deadlines, prioritize tasks, and maintain confidential financial information.
- Strong communication skills and a dependable, team-oriented work style.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in financial services, banking, insurance, or another regulated business environment.
- Familiarity with accounting software, ERP systems, or bookkeeping platforms.
- Experience supporting month-end close, account reconciliations, or general ledger maintenance.
- Associate degree or coursework in accounting, finance, business, or a related field.
