Job Summary
A well-established commercial real estate investment and property management organization is seeking an Accounting Clerk to join its corporate accounting team in Downtown Los Angeles, CA. This full-time, temp-to-hire opportunity is ideal for an early-career accounting professional with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and at least one year of accounting experience who is ready to build a long-term career in real estate accounting.
The Accounting Clerk will support accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, journal entries, month-end close, and financial reporting activities in a stable, professional office environment. This role offers hands-on training, mentorship, and a defined growth path toward a Property Accountant position based on performance, demonstrated proficiency, and business needs.

Key Responsibilities
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and on time.
- Enter invoices, cash receipts, journal entries, and supporting accounting data into the system.
- Reconcile bank accounts, general ledger accounts, vendor balances, and account discrepancies.
- Assist with month-end close, financial reporting, schedules, and account reconciliations.
- Maintain organized accounting records, documentation, and department files.
- Provide general administrative and accounting support to the corporate accounting team.

- Pay rate: $24.00 to $25.00 per hour.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entries, and cash receipt processing.
- Assist with bank reconciliations, general ledger reconciliations, and month-end close activities.
- Prepare accounting schedules, reports, and reconciliations using Microsoft Excel.
- Research and resolve vendor, account, and transaction discrepancies.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
- Minimum of one year of accounting experience in a corporate, professional, or public accounting environment.
- Relevant accounting internships may be considered toward the experience requirement.
- Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, GAAP.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a professional office environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in commercial real estate or property management accounting.
- Experience using Yardi, MRI, or other accounting or ERP software.
- Interest in developing into a Property Accountant role through training, mentorship, and progressive responsibility.
