Job Summary
A growing team in West Columbia, SC is seeking an Accounting Clerk for a full-time, onsite temp-to-hire opportunity. This role is ideal for an organized accounting professional with hands-on QuickBooks experience, strong attention to detail, and a solid understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and financial recordkeeping.
The Accounting Clerk will support daily accounting operations in a stable, team-oriented environment where accuracy, communication, and dependability are valued. Key Responsibilities
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and on time.
- Enter invoices, payments, deposits, and financial data into QuickBooks.
- Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and account activity.
- Assist with billing, collections, payment processing, and vendor or customer account inquiries.
- Maintain organized financial records, files, and supporting documentation.
- Support month-end close activities, reporting needs, and general accounting administration.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay: $18.00 to $23.00 per hour, based on experience.
- Job type: Temp-to-hire.
- Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday.
- Work arrangement: Onsite in West Columbia, SC.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Process AP and AR transactions, including invoices, payments, billing, and account updates.
- Maintain accurate financial records using QuickBooks.
- Reconcile bank and credit card statements.
- Support deposits, month-end closing activities, and accounting reports.
- 2+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience required.
- Hands-on QuickBooks experience required.
- Knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and payment processing.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and manage multiple accounting tasks.
- Excellent communication, customer service, and follow-up skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3 to 5 years of accounting clerk, bookkeeping, AP, or AR experience.
- Prior experience in transportation, logistics, warehousing, materials handling, or a related operational environment.
- Experience assisting with month-end close, account research, collections, or financial reporting.
- Strong Excel skills for tracking, reviewing, and organizing accounting data.
