An established company in Pasadena is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our team. This position is open due to an internal promotion creating an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow their accounting skills.
The primary focus of this position will be Accounts Payable, with opportunities over time to expand into Accounts Receivable, reconciliations, and broader accounting responsibilities.
Primary Responsibilities (Accounts Payable Focus)
Process and enter vendor invoices accurately and timely
Match invoices to purchase orders and verify approvals
Code invoices properly within accounting software
Maintain vendor records and resolve discrepancies
Assist with weekly check runs and ACH payments
Reconcile vendor statements
Maintain organized and audit-ready financial records
Additional Responsibilities (Growth Opportunity)
Support Accounts Receivable data entry and posting payments
Assist with bank and credit card reconciliations
Support month-end closing activities
Help prepare financial reports
Cross-train in additional accounting functions
Qualifications
Previous experience in Accounts Payable or general accounting support
Strong attention to detail and data entry accuracy
Familiarity with QuickBooks or similar accounting software
Basic understanding of bookkeeping principles
Ability to prioritize and manage deadlines
Strong organizational and communication skills
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred
