Our rapidly growing construction industry client is seeking an experienced Accounting Clerk with strong QuickBooks Desktop expertise and a minimum of 5 years of construction accounting experience. This role requires someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and confident handling financial data. A Certified Payroll Specialist certification is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
Manage, organize, and implement billing and job costing activities
Ensure accurate and timely processing of accounts payable and payments
Maintain accounts receivable ledger, including posting payments and reviewing remittance information
Prepare regular A/R aging reports for management review
Process electronic timesheets and payroll with accuracy and timeliness
Perform bank reconciliations and prepare monthly supporting documentation
Complete variance analyses, journal entries, and additional reconciliations as needed
Follow all monthly A/R and A/P cash closing procedures
Assist with monthly and quarterly financial reporting
Maintain accounting spreadsheets and financial documentation
Enter all financial transactions and journal entries accurately into accounting software
Organize and maintain accounting-related records, files, and documents
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
Minimum of 5 years accounting experience within the construction industry
Certified Payroll Specialist certification strongly preferred
Proficiency with QuickBooks Desktop
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
Strong background in accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and general ledger
Bank reconciliation experience
Ability to prepare routine reports and professional correspondence
Proven accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines
