Accounting Specialist – Freight Forwarding / Customs Brokerage
Job Description:
•Process accounts payable, including reviewing, coding, and posting vendor invoices related to freight, carriers, and customs services
•Post customer payments accurately and timely, including ACH, wire transfers, and checks
•Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on past-due invoices to ensure timely collections
•Prepare and send customer invoices, statements, and payment reminders
•Reconcile customer and vendor accounts, resolving discrepancies as needed
•Maintain accurate financial records in compliance with company policies and industry regulations
•Coordinate with operations and customer service teams to resolve billing and payment issues
•Assist with month-end closing activities and basic financial reporting
Requirements:
•2–3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience, preferably in freight forwarding, logistics, or customs brokerage
•Strong understanding of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
•Experience posting payments and managing collections on past-due accounts
•Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel
•High attention to detail with strong organizational and follow-up skills
•Ability to communicate professionally with internal teams, vendors, and customers
