Accounting Assistant (AP / AR / Payroll Support)

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to support Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll functions in a fast-paced, professional office environment. This is a fully onsite role offering long-term stability and strong benefits.
Key Responsibilities:
Process Accounts Payable, including entering and updating vendor invoices, preparing payment checks, and responding to vendor inquiries
Handle Accounts Receivable by entering sales invoices, sending invoices to customers, and posting daily cash receipts (checks, wires, miscellaneous payments)
Perform bank and credit card reconciliations to ensure accuracy
Manage collections on aged receivables, including sending statements and following up with customers via phone and email
Support payroll processing by verifying overtime and PTO in coordination with the Accounting Manager
Maintain organized filing systems for vendor files and invoices (must be able to lift up to 10 lbs)
Provide general office support for seminars, special events, or cross-departmental needs as required
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
3–5 years of accounting experience preferred
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
Experience with Sage 50 is a plus (not required)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-service mindset
Highly organized, accurate, and dependable
