Job Title: Accounting Clerk
Location: Guaynabo, PR
Compensation: $12.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Position Summary:
The Accounting Clerk supports by managing the accounts payable cycle, maintaining accurate financial records, processing tax filings, and assisting with month-end close and audits. This role requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Perform the complete Accounts Payable cycle, including data entry, invoice approval follow-up, aging analysis, and timely payments.
• Prepare and file sales and use tax (IVU) forms, monthly professional services payments, withholdings, and annual Form 480 filings.
• Support monthly reconciliations of AP general ledger accounts and related subsidiary ledgers.
• Post accounting entries and assist with month-end closing activities according to the established calendar.
• Maintain digital and physical filing of invoices, payments, contracts, and all related documentation.
Qualifications:
• Associate Degree in Accounting or Finance, or four years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of accounting principles and financial processes.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; bilingual preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Experience with Microsoft Great Plains preferred.
Work Environment:
• Standard office environment with minimal physical demands.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced setting with frequent interruptions.
