The Accounting Clerk plays a vital role in the finance department, reporting to the Revenue Manager. This position handles accounts receivable, billing, general ledger journal entries, and reconciliations for various transportation authorities. The ideal candidate has strong accounting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
Essential Functions
• Maintain accounting records for Redi Wheels, pass sales, special billing, accounts receivable collections, revenue recognition accounting, and adjustments.
• Reconcile daily sales of cash and credit card transactions.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts.
• Research and resolve payment disputes with customer accounts.
• Reconcile return passes and update logs for accuracy.

Examples of Duties
• Create and update customer accounts.
• Process unapplied cash receipts, collections, and reporting.
• Prepare and enter journal entries for month-end and year-end closing.
• Prepare and reconcile financial reports, including pass sales and ticket-by-mail reports.
• Process credit card refunds and respond to chargeback transactions.
• Handle write-offs for delinquent customer accounts.
• Perform all duties in a safe manner, promoting safety awareness and adherence to procedures to prevent accidents.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
• Associate’s degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field (can substitute up to two years of full-time experience).
• Three (3) years of full-time accounting experience working with computerized accounting systems.

Preferred Qualifications
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Access databases.
• Experience with ERP databases (e.g., PeopleSoft).
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
