We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Clerk in North San Diego. This position is responsible for supporting daily financial transactions, with a focus on Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR). The ideal candidate will have experience with common accounting software systems and a solid understanding of accounting principles.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable (AP):
Review, verify, and enter vendor invoices into the accounting system.
Process check runs, ACH, and wire payments in a timely manner.
Match purchase orders, packing slips, and invoices.
Communicate with vendors regarding billing inquiries or discrepancies.
Maintain vendor files and ensure W-9s and tax documents are up to date.
Accounts Receivable (AR):
Generate and send customer invoices.
Record incoming payments and apply them accurately to customer accounts.
Monitor aging reports and follow up on past-due accounts.
Resolve billing disputes and respond to customer inquiries.
Prepare bank deposits and reconcile accounts as needed.
General Accounting Duties:
Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
Perform account reconciliations and journal entries.
Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
Support audits by providing required documentation and reports.
Assist with special projects and ad hoc reporting as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education: Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Bachelor’s preferred).
Experience: 2+ years of experience in AP/AR or general accounting roles.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUPs).
Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, SAP, NetSuite, Sage, or Microsoft Dynamics.
Familiarity with ERP systems is a plus.
