Job Summary
We are seeking an Accounting Associate for a contract/temporary opportunity in Collierville, TN. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional with early-career experience who enjoys working with financial data, spreadsheets, invoices, and accounting systems.
As an Accounting Associate, you will help maintain accurate financial records by classifying, recording, calculating, and summarizing numerical data. This position offers the opportunity to build practical accounting experience in a professional environment with supportive leadership, collaborative team interaction, and exposure to day-to-day accounting operations. The right candidate will be organized, dependable, and comfortable working independently while contributing to accurate and timely financial processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Classify, record, and summarize numerical and financial data to help maintain complete and accurate financial records.
- Prepare and issue bills, invoices, account statements, and other financial documents according to established procedures.
- Debit, credit, and total accounts using spreadsheets, databases, and accounting software.
- Maintain journals, ledgers, and computerized accounting records with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Review financial data for completeness, consistency, and compliance with company procedures.
- Support general accounting and administrative tasks related to accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial reporting.

- Compensation: $26 to $28 per year.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Classify, record, and summarize financial data for accounting records.
- Prepare invoices, account statements, and related financial documents.
- Enter, debit, credit, and total account information in spreadsheets, databases, or accounting software.
- Support accurate recordkeeping for accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general accounting processes.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 0 to 2 years of financial and/or accounting experience required.
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and related accounting software.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and company accounting policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
- Comfortable working with numerical data, spreadsheets, ledgers, and computerized records.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree in accounting, finance, or a related financial discipline preferred.
- Prior experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, invoicing, or financial recordkeeping.
- Familiarity with specialized accounting software or database systems.
