Overview
We are seeking an experienced Accounting Assistant / Bookkeeper to support day-to-day accounting operations. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, reliable, and comfortable working independently while supporting a busy office or small accounting team.
Key Responsibilities
Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
Manage invoicing, payments, and account reconciliations
Maintain accurate financial records in QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online
Assist with monthly and year-end close activities
Support payroll processing and related reporting (as needed)
Prepare basic financial reports and spreadsheets
Maintain organized digital and physical financial files
Assist with audits, documentation, and compliance requests
Required Qualifications
2+ years of bookkeeping or accounting assistant experience
Hands-on experience with both QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online (required)
Strong knowledge of AP, AR, and bank reconciliations
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and general accounting software
High attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to manage deadlines and work independently
Preferred Qualifications
Payroll experience
Experience supporting small to mid-sized businesses
Accounting coursework or degree (preferred, not required)
