We are seeking an Accounting Assistant for a direct hire opportunity in Pleasanton, CA. This role is ideal for an accounting professional with 3 to 5 years of experience who enjoys supporting day-to-day accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, and contributing to a well-organized finance team.
The Accounting Assistant will support accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, data entry, and general accounting administration in a professional business services environment. Key Responsibilities
- Process accounts payable invoices, verify approvals, code expenses, and assist with payment preparation.
- Support accounts receivable functions, including billing, payment posting, account updates, and customer follow-up.
- Reconcile vendor statements, customer accounts, bank activity, and general ledger details as needed.
- Maintain accurate accounting records, files, and documentation in accordance with internal procedures.
- Assist with month-end close support, reporting, journal entries, and other accounting projects.
- Communicate professionally with internal teams, vendors, and customers to resolve billing or payment questions.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay range: $30.00 to $32.00 per hour.
- Job type: Direct hire.

- Assist with billing, payment posting, vendor records, and month-end accounting support.
- 3 to 5 years of accounting, bookkeeping, accounts payable, or accounts receivable experience.
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and financial recordkeeping.
- Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel or similar spreadsheet tools.
- High attention to detail with strong accuracy in data entry, coding, and reconciliations.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced office environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a professional and service-oriented approach.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting both accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
- Prior experience in a business services or professional office environment.
- Familiarity with month-end close activities, account reconciliations, and general ledger support.
- Ability to identify process improvements and help maintain efficient accounting workflows.
