A growing organization in San Clemente, CA is seeking an Accounting Assistant for a temp-to-hire opportunity. This is an excellent role for a detail-oriented accounting professional who enjoys variety, collaboration, and being part of a fast-moving business environment.
The company has been established for more than 20 years and is currently experiencing significant growth following a recent acquisition. This Accounting Assistant will work closely with the CFO and Controller while supporting accounting, billing, invoicing, documentation, and operational administration. The environment is team-focused, hands-on, and ideal for someone with a positive attitude, strong follow-through, and the ability to wear many hats.

Key Responsibilities
- Support accounts payable activities, including invoice processing, documentation, and vendor-related follow-up.
- Assist the CFO and Controller with accounting, administrative, reporting, and operational support tasks.
- Help with billing, invoicing, purchase orders, spreadsheets, paperwork, and compliance-related documentation.
- Coordinate with internal teams, customers, logistics partners, and other contacts as needed.
- Assist with customs, international freight documentation, inventory tracking, and logistics-related paperwork.
- Maintain organized records and use Excel and MS Office tools to manage data, tasks, and follow-up items.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $55,000 to $65,000 per year.
- Job type: Temp-to-hire.
- Location: San Clemente, CA.
- Assist with accounts payable, billing, invoicing, purchase orders, and accounting documentation.
- Provide administrative and operational support to the CFO and Controller.
- Manage detailed paperwork, compliance documentation, spreadsheets, and internal records.
- Coordinate with team members, customers, and logistics contacts in a fast-paced environment.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant accounting, administrative accounting, finance support, or related experience.
- Strong MS Office skills, including Excel for spreadsheets, organization, and tracking.
- High attention to detail with the ability to manage paperwork accurately and consistently.
- Reliable, organized, and able to pivot quickly as priorities shift.
- Strong communication and people skills with a positive, will-do attitude.
- Comfortable working in a growing company where processes and priorities may evolve quickly.
- Computer-savvy with the ability to learn systems and maintain accurate records.
Preferred Qualifications
- Manufacturing or distribution industry experience.
- Experience with M3 or similar ERP/accounting systems.
- Exposure to international freight, customs paperwork, or documentation related to China-based vendors or shipments.
- Experience assisting with inventory tracking, logistics coordination, or supply chain administration.
