A rapidly growing manufacturing organization in San Clemente, CA is seeking an Accounting Assistant for a temp-to-hire opportunity. This is an excellent role for a detail-oriented accounting professional who enjoys variety, teamwork, and supporting multiple areas of the business.
The Accounting Assistant will work closely with the CFO and Controller while assisting with accounts payable, billing, invoicing, documentation, purchase orders, inventory tracking, and administrative accounting support. The company has been in business for more than 20 years and is expanding after a recent acquisition, creating a fast-moving environment with opportunities to learn, contribute, and grow.

Key Responsibilities
- Support accounts payable activities, including invoice processing, documentation, and vendor-related follow-up.
- Assist the CFO and Controller with accounting, administrative, and operational finance support.
- Prepare and maintain billing, invoicing, customs, freight, and compliance-related paperwork.
- Create purchase orders, update spreadsheets, track documentation, and help keep accounting records organized.
- Communicate with internal teams, customers, and vendors as needed to resolve questions and support daily workflow.
- Assist with logistics-related tasks, international documentation, and possible inventory tracking.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $52,000 to $66,000 per year.
- Temp-to-hire opportunity.
- Assist with accounts payable, billing, invoicing, and accounting documentation.
- Support the CFO and Controller with daily accounting and administrative priorities.
- Create purchase orders, maintain Excel spreadsheets, and help track paperwork and compliance items.
- Communicate with customers, vendors, and internal teams to support smooth accounting and operations workflow.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, or finance support experience.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling paperwork, invoices, documentation, and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel for spreadsheets, tracking, and organization.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, changing environment with the ability to pivot and prioritize effectively.
- Reliable, professional, and team-oriented with a positive, will-do attitude.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with customers, vendors, and coworkers.
- Computer savvy and able to learn accounting, ERP, and operational systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Manufacturing or distribution industry experience.
- Experience using M3 or a similar ERP system.
- Experience with international freight, customs documentation, or working with China-related import paperwork.
- Exposure to logistics, inventory tracking, purchase orders, or compliance-heavy documentation processes.
