About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to support our finance team with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll functions. This role is ideal for someone early in their accounting career who is looking to grow in a stable, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Payable
Enter and update vendor invoices in Sage 50
Process payments and prepare checks and reports
Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve discrepancies
Accounts Receivable
Enter and manage customer invoices in Sage 50
Send invoices and track outstanding balances
Process daily payments (checks, wire transfers, cash)
Reconciliation & Collections
Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
Monitor aged receivables and follow up on unpaid invoices
Communicate professionally with customers to collect payments
Payroll Support
Assist Accounting Manager with payroll processing
Verify overtime, PTO, and employee records
Filing & Office Support
Maintain organized vendor files and records
Handle filing and occasional lifting (up to 10 lbs)
Provide administrative support for events or departmental needs
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
1–3 years of accounting experience
Strong knowledge of:
Accounts Payable & Receivable
Reconciliations
Basic payroll support
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
Experience with Sage 50 (a plus, not required)
Strong communication and customer service skills
Must be local to Irvine, CA
Work Environment
100% onsite in Irvine
Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM
