We are currently seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to support our finance department and help ensure smooth daily operations.
Position Summary
The Accounting Assistant will provide essential support to the accounting team with accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and general administrative accounting functions. This role is ideal for someone who is organized, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced distribution environment.
Key Responsibilities
Process vendor invoices and ensure accurate coding and timely payment
Assist with accounts receivable, including posting payments and following up on outstanding balances
Reconcile bank statements and vendor accounts
Maintain accurate financial records and filing systems
Assist with purchase order matching and inventory-related accounting support
Prepare deposits and process ACH and check payments
Support month-end closing activities
Generate basic financial reports as needed
Communicate with vendors and internal departments regarding billing questions
Qualifications
1–3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience
Experience in distribution, manufacturing, or industrial supply environment preferred
Strong understanding of basic accounting principles
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, or similar ERP systems preferred)
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
