Accounting Analyst
Location: Columbia, SC
Pay: $65,000 annually
Type: Direct Hire
We are seeking a detail oriented and reliable Accounting Analyst to support a housing focused organization in Columbia, SC. The ideal candidate will bring experience within the housing industry and working knowledge of HAB housing software. This position requires strong technical accounting skills and the ability to manage multiple financial processes with accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare, review, and analyze monthly financial statements
Perform bank reconciliations for multiple bank accounts
Support grant management, including drawing down funds and completing required reporting
Maintain accurate general ledger entries and assist with month end and year end close
Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
Monitor budgets and assist with variance analysis
Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
Partner with internal departments to gather documentation and resolve discrepancies
Assist leadership with special projects, audits, and financial data requests
Qualifications:
Previous accounting experience in the housing industry required
HAB housing software experience strongly preferred
Proven experience preparing financial statements
Strong background in bank reconciliations involving multiple accounts
Experience working with grants and completing drawdowns
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general accounting systems
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
