Job Summary

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Accounting Admin for a temp-to-hire opportunity in Costa Mesa, CA. This role supports a busy construction accounting team with administrative, data entry, document management, and AP/AR-related tasks during an initial assignment.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide administrative and clerical support to the construction accounting team.
- Perform accurate data entry and maintain accounting records, files, and documentation.
- Assist with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable tasks, including organizing and reviewing related documents.
- Follow up with vendors, subcontractors, and other parties to obtain required documents, releases, and missing information.
- Track outstanding items, review documents for completeness, and help the team catch up on backlogged work.
- Maintain organized electronic and physical files while handling confidential financial information appropriately.

Compensation and Benefits

- Salary range: $52,000 to $60,000 per year.
- Job type: Temp-to-hire.
- Location: Costa Mesa, CA.



Required Qualifications and Skills

- Support a construction accounting team with administrative, accounting, and clerical tasks.
- Assist with AP/AR documentation, data entry, records maintenance, and file organization.
- Track outstanding documents and consistently follow up with vendors, subcontractors, and internal contacts.
- Help organize and process accounting documentation to reduce backlog and improve workflow.

- Minimum 6 months of accounting or related administrative experience required.
- Exposure to Accounts Payable and/or Accounts Receivable preferred.
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills required.
- Strong data entry, organizational, and document management skills.
- High attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy and completeness.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and stay on top of outstanding items.
- Comfortable working with confidential financial information.
- Strong communication, follow-through, and problem-solving skills.
- Dependable, self-directed, and comfortable working in a busy accounting environment.

Preferred Qualifications

- Construction accounting experience is a plus.
- Experience with Procore is a plus.
- Experience with Miter is a plus.
- 3 to 5 years of accounting administrative experience is helpful.
