Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Accountant for a direct hire opportunity in San Juan, PR within the healthcare services industry. The Accountant will work closely with the Controller and Finance team in a professional office environment that values accuracy, accountability, confidentiality, and high-quality service. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate, complete, and timely financial statements, reports, and accounting documentation.
- Analyze general ledger accounts, financial records, cost of sales, and variances to ensure proper classification, accuracy, and compliance.
- Maintain subsidiary ledgers, fixed asset records, depreciation schedules, corporate loan records, and amortization schedules.
- Perform bank reconciliations, prepare journal entries, and participate in monthly and year-end closing processes.
- Prepare required billing, tax filings, audit documentation, and financial reports requested by the Controller.
- Support payroll activities, internal controls, accounting process improvements, and special projects as assigned.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $40,000 to $46,000 per year.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Prepare financial statements and maintain accurate accounting records.
- Manage reconciliations, journal entries, fixed assets, corporate loan records, and closing activities.
- Support tax filings, billing, audit requests, payroll-related activities, and internal financial reporting.
- Analyze financial data, identify variances, and provide accurate information to support business decisions.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience performing similar accounting functions.
- Strong knowledge of the full accounting cycle, GAAP principles, and Puerto Rico tax regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially intermediate to advanced Excel.
- Experience with accounting systems or ERP platforms such as Dynamics GP, Acumatica, or similar systems.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial information and identify discrepancies.
- High attention to detail, accuracy, confidentiality, ethics, and professional responsibility.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish.
- Ability to communicate financial information clearly to financial and non-financial personnel.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively across departments.
- Adaptability, critical thinking, emotional intelligence, and a results-oriented mindset.
- Availability to work holidays, weekends, and extended hours when needed.
- Ability to sit frequently, use a computer for extended periods, and occasionally lift up to 20 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in healthcare services or a regulated business environment.
- Hands-on experience with Dynamics GP, Acumatica, or similar ERP accounting systems.
- Experience supporting internal or external audits, payroll processes, and internal control improvements.
- Strong continuous improvement mindset with the ability to recommend process efficiencies within the finance function.
