Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join a growing construction company. This role is responsible for managing core accounting functions, including payroll, accounts payable and receivable, job costing, and financial analysis. The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting skills, experience in the construction industry, and proficiency with ERP and project management systems.
Key Responsibilities
• Process and manage weekly payroll for approximately 20 employees using Sage 100C.
• Handle full-cycle accounts payable (A/P), including invoice processing, coding, and vendor payments
• Manage accounts receivable (A/R), including invoicing and collections
• Perform job cost coding to ensure accurate tracking and allocation of project costs
• Record and maintain journal entries and general ledger activity
• Perform bank reconciliations and ensure accuracy of all financial transactions
• Manage cash deposits and maintain proper documentation and controls
• Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making and reporting
• Utilize Sage 100C for accounting functions and reporting
• Collaborate with project managers through Procore to align financial data with project progress
• Process payments using GC Pay
• Assist with month-end, semi-annual and year-end closing processes
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal policies
Qualifications
• Hands-on experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations
• Experience handling payroll processing and cash management
• Proficiency with ERP systems (Sage 100C preferred)
• Familiarity with Procore or similar construction project management software
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and data analysis functions
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and accuracy
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in the construction industry
Strong experience with financial analysis, general ledger, and journal entries
