Senior Accountant

Job Summary
We are seeking a confident, detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join a high-performing finance and accounting team. This role supports core financial operations, ensures accurate reporting in accordance with GAAP, and contributes to continuous process improvement. The ideal candidate brings strong public accounting foundations, advanced Excel skills, and the confidence to question, analyze, and optimize processes within a collaborative, energetic team environment. This is a hybrid role requiring onsite presence midweek with remote flexibility on designated days.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
-Lead and execute monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes with accuracy and timeliness
-Prepare, analyze, and post journal entries; research and resolve discrepancies
-Perform detailed cash and balance sheet account reconciliations
-Manage payroll-related entries, accruals, amortization, and revenue recognition on a monthly basis
-Support budget preparation, forecasting, and variance analysis
-Analyze expense accruals, prepaid expenses, and revenue accounts
-Complete monthly invoicing and related billing entries
-Assist with bank transaction processing and daily cash posting
-Maintain fixed asset and lease accounting schedules, as applicable
-Support internal and external audit requests and documentation
-Complete intercompany reconciliations
-Maintain and improve standard operating procedures within the accounting department
-Perform financial statement analysis and ad hoc projects as needed
-Collaborate cross-functionally while maintaining a high level of independence and accountability
Schedule & Work Environment
-Standard business hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
-Hybrid schedule: Onsite Tuesday–Thursday, Remote Monday & Friday
-Fast-paced, collaborative, and social team environment with regular team-building activities
-Open communication culture—candidates must be confident speaking up and challenging processes constructively
Required Skills & Abilities
-Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (VLOOKUPS, SUMIFs, detailed data analysis)
-Strong analytical and audit skill set
-Solid understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
-High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities
-Comfortable questioning data and creating efficiencies
-Strong communication and interpersonal skills
-Ability to thrive independently and collaboratively in a growing accounting team
Preferred Experience
-3–4 years of accounting experience
-Prior public accounting experience strongly preferred
-Financial services industry exposure a plus
-Experience with ERP systems; Microsoft Dynamics is a plus
-CPA or active progress toward CPA preferred but not required
Education
-Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required
