Seeking a detail-oriented Accountant I/II. This role performs a wide range of professional accounting duties supporting the financial operations.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and maintain general ledger entries, reconciliations, and financial records
• Analyze and verify financial data, transactions, revenue, and expenditures
• Prepare financial statements, reports, and schedules for City, state, and federal requirements
• Assist with audits, year-end closing, budgeting, and CAFR preparation
• Support grants, special projects, and internal control procedures
• (Higher level) Perform advanced financial analysis, internal audits, debt schedule maintenance, and provide guidance to junior staff
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
• Accountant I: 1+ year of accounting experience (municipal experience a plus)
• Accountant II: 2+ years of professional accounting experience, preferably in a public agency
• Strong knowledge of GAAP; governmental accounting experience preferred
• Excellent analytical, reconciliation, and organizational skills
• Proficiency with financial systems and Microsoft Excel
