Full Cycle Accountant – Columbia, SC
Long-Term Contract (Potential to Go Permanent) | $20–$24/hr (depending on experience)
Monday–Friday, Full Time
We are a recruiting and staffing agency assisting our client, a state government department, in seeking a skilled Full Cycle Accountant for a long-term contract role in Columbia, SC. This position offers the potential to transition into a permanent role for the right candidate.
Responsibilities:
Manage full cycle accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and reconciliations
Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports
Support month-end and year-end closing processes
Maintain compliance with state and departmental accounting procedures
Assist with budget preparation, forecasting, and audit support
Utilize accounting software and systems to ensure accuracy and efficiency in financial operations
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of full cycle accounting experience, preferably in a government or large organizational setting
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems; SCEIS experience strongly preferred
Solid understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and attention to detail
