Overview:
We have partnered with a respected construction firm in Charlotte, NC and are looking for an experienced Accountant to join their team in a traditional accounting role. This position is responsible for day-to-day accounting operations including general ledger management, financial reporting, account reconciliation, and support for year-end audit and tax preparation. A strong working knowledge of QuickBooks and prior construction industry experience are essential. Experience with carry-forward balances and corporate taxes.

Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain the general ledger, record journal entries, perform month-end close, and complete bank and credit-card reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and support year-end audit and tax preparation (including carry-forward balances/corporate taxes).
• Process accounts payable and receivable, assist with payroll entries and benefits reconciliations, and track fixed assets and depreciation schedules.
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting, ensure GAAP compliance and internal controls, and deliver accurate financial reporting and analysis.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 2+ years of accounting experience (construction industry preferred)
• Proficient in QuickBooks (Desktop or Online)
• Strong knowledge of general accounting principles and financial reporting
