Our company is looking to add an Accountant to out staff. This position is reports to the Accounting Manager. This position collaborates with the team on conducting daily accounting activities across all sections of the financial statements including accounts payable and receivable, intercompany transactions, fixed assets, payroll and taxes, and labor costs used for analysis, budgeting, and pricing. The accountant will be actively involved in the month-end and year-end closing processes to generate financial statements and other
reports in an efficient and effective manner.
Essential Functions:
Participates in the month-end closing by following the designed procedures and assisting with the tasks assigned to the accounting staff. Ensures the integrity of accounting information by performing balance sheet reconciliation such as bank, credit card, AR Aging, AP Aging, and intercompany reconciliations. Ensures the completeness of financial information by recording revenue and expense accruals, and reviews subsequent reversals. Maintains completeness and proper valuation of prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and depreciation in Sage. Maintains and balances intercompany accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies. Records the classification of transactions into proper locations/departments. Research, analyzes, and resolves erroneous transactions in the accounting system and/or other applicable database systems (e.g., Concur). Communicates with vendors any issues related to invoices, payments, and W9. Prepares annual reconciliation of payroll accounts and W2, payroll taxes and Forms 941 and 940. Performs comparative analysis of the financial statements and investigates major fluctuations and variances. On a bi-weekly basis, assists with the review of the accuracy of the 401(k) deferrals, contributions, and loan repayments including communicating variances or discrepancies to Human Resources. Provides support and assists auditors with annual financial statement audit process, including Workers’ Compensation and 401(k). Assists on the preparations and review of the annual filing of the income tax returns. Assists with the monitoring and management of the annual filing and payment of corporate taxes and annual filings of 1099-MISC across all companies including the LLC’s. Assists with the development and revision of budgets. Protects the organization’s value by keeping information confidential. Collaborates with company leadership and other finance professionals to reconcile accounts and review quarterly or annual reports. Avoids legal challenges by complying with legal requirements related to the company’s financial procedures, records, and statements. Review existing systems and processes and recommend improvements to enhance and strengthen internal controls. Assists with the development of procedures to ensure company compliance with all standards and regulations at the federal, state, and county levels. Performs all other related duties and responsibilities, as assigned. REQUIRED EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: Core Competencies/Skill Sets. Additional Skills

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred
At least four (4) years of related accounting experience with private or public for-profit companies. Previous experience with Financial Reporting, Month-end Close, and Variance
