About the Role
A well-established agricultural organization in the Bakersfield area is seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable (AR) Specialist to join their team. This role is responsible for managing customer accounts, processing payments, and ensuring timely collection of outstanding balances. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment that supports agricultural operations.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and issue accurate invoices for agricultural products, services, and contracts.
Monitor AR aging reports and follow up on overdue accounts.
Accurately record and apply customer payments, credits, and adjustments.
Reconcile customer accounts and resolve billing or delivery discrepancies.
Utilize customer portals for invoicing and payment tracking.
Collaborate with customers and internal production/operations teams to resolve account inquiries.
Maintain organized and accurate financial documentation within the accounting system.
Assist with month-end close, reconciliations, and AR-related reporting.
Support audits and ensure compliance with financial and agricultural regulations.
Deliver excellent customer service and help maintain strong customer relationships.
Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications
Associate’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred).
Minimum 3 years of experience in Accounts Receivable or Accounting; agricultural industry experience strongly preferred.
Proficient with accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, or ERP systems) and Microsoft Excel.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work collaboratively across departments and manage multiple priorities.
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
Working Conditions
Office environment; frequent sitting, walking, and standing.
Extended periods of computer use.
Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling; ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
Ability to work productively in an environment with medium to high interruptions.
