Job Summary

A growing HVAC construction company in Tustin, CA is seeking an experienced AR/AP Manager for a full-time, in-office temp-to-hire opportunity. This role is ideal for an accounting professional with strong accounts payable, accounts receivable, construction job costing, and public works accounting experience.

The AR/AP Manager will play a key role in keeping vendor payments, customer billing, job cost records, lien releases, and month-end accounting processes accurate and on schedule. Key Responsibilities

- Manage day-to-day accounts payable and accounts receivable functions for construction projects.
- Process vendor invoices, payments, check runs, joint checks, and related documentation.
- Track customer billing, payments, outstanding receivables, and collection status.
- Maintain accurate job costing records in Sage and support project-level financial reporting.
- Manage lien releases, vendor reconciliations, billing discrepancies, and construction payment documentation.
- Assist with prevailing wage, public works accounting requirements, month-end close, and reporting activities.

Compensation and Benefits

- Pay: $85,000 to $86,000 per year.
- Job Type: Temp-to-Hire.
- Schedule: Full-time.
- Work Arrangement: In-office position in Tustin, CA.



Required Qualifications and Skills

- Manage AP and AR processes for construction-related accounting operations.
- Maintain job costing accuracy in Sage for active projects.
- Support prevailing wage, public works, joint check, lien release, and payment documentation requirements.
- Assist with month-end accounting, reconciliations, and reporting.

- 3 to 5 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Accounts payable and accounts receivable experience required, preferably in construction.
- Experience with prevailing wage and public works project accounting.
- Experience managing joint checks and construction payment documentation.
- Proficiency with Sage accounting software.
- Strong understanding of construction job costing.
- Ability to reconcile vendor accounts and resolve invoice or billing discrepancies.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

- Prior experience in HVAC, mechanical contracting, or industrial construction accounting.
- Familiarity with lien releases, subcontractor documentation, and construction compliance requirements.
- Experience working in a high-volume project accounting environment.
