About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accounts Payable Specialist to join our growing construction team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and has experience processing invoices within the construction industry.

You will play a critical role in ensuring timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices, subcontractor payments, and expense tracking across multiple projects.

Key Responsibilities
Process high-volume invoices (200+ weekly) with speed and accuracy
Review, code, and match invoices to purchase orders and contracts
Manage subcontractor payments, lien waivers, and compliance documentation
Ensure proper job cost allocation and coding
Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
Maintain accurate AP records and support month-end close
Communicate with vendors, project managers, and internal teams regarding payment status
Assist with check runs, ACH/wire payments, and cash flow tracking
Ensure compliance with company policies and construction accounting standards
Qualifications
2–5+ years of Accounts Payable experience, preferably in construction
Experience with high-volume invoice processing required
Strong understanding of job costing and subcontractor billing
Familiarity with construction accounting software (e.g., Sage 300/Timberline, Procore, Viewpoint, or similar)
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
Preferred Experience
Experience handling lien releases and compliance tracking
Background in multi-entity or multi-project environments
Knowledge of sales/use tax in construction
