Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced AP Manager for a direct hire opportunity in Irvine, CA. This role is ideal for a hands-on accounts payable leader who enjoys building strong processes, supporting a collaborative accounting team, and ensuring accuracy in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.
The Accounts Payable Manager will oversee AP operations, lead a team, support month-end close, and help improve workflow efficiency through process enhancements and automation. Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and supervise the Accounts Payable team to ensure accurate and timely invoice processing.
- Manage AP month-end close activities, including accruals, reconciliations, and reporting support.
- Review vendor data, payment runs, and employee expense reports for accuracy, compliance, and proper approvals.
- Oversee corporate credit card reconciliations and ensure timely resolution of discrepancies.
- Support audits, tax filings, 1099 reporting, and related financial reporting requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve AP processes, strengthen controls, and support automation initiatives.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Lead daily accounts payable operations and supervise AP team performance.
- Manage AP month-end close, accruals, reconciliations, and payment review processes.
- Support audit requests, tax filings, 1099s, and financial reporting activities.
- Drive process improvements, internal controls, and automation opportunities.
- 7+ years of accounts payable and general ledger experience.
- 4+ years of leadership or supervisory experience within accounting or accounts payable.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting controls.
- Experience using ERP systems in an accounting or finance environment.
- Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to analyze, reconcile, and manage large data sets.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines and supporting cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience improving AP workflows, strengthening controls, or supporting automation initiatives.
- Prior experience managing corporate credit card reconciliations and employee expense reporting.
- Experience supporting audits, 1099 reporting, and tax-related documentation.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $84,000 to $100,000 per year.
- Job type: Direct hire.
