Key Responsibilities of the AP Manager:
- Oversee the daily operations of the accounts payable department
- Manage and mentor AP staff, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in invoice processing and payments
- Develop and implement AP policies and procedures to improve workflow and compliance
- Review and approve high-value invoices, purchase orders, and expense reports
- Ensure timely and accurate payments via check, ACH, or wire transfer
- Reconcile vendor accounts and resolve escalated discrepancies
- Collaborate with finance and procurement teams to support month-end and year-end closing
- Generate reports and provide insights on AP metrics and cash flow
Qualifications for the AP Manager:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- 5+ years of accounts payable experience, including 2+ years in a supervisory or managerial role
- Proficiency in accounting systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel
- Strong leadership, organizational, and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
